Large Service — the “do it properly” service that keeps cars reliable

A Large Service goes beyond a basic oil service. It typically includes an engine oil + oil filter change plus key service items like air filter, cabin/microfilter, and (where required) spark plugs and additional checks. Exact contents vary by manufacturer and model — we confirm your schedule before we attend.

  • Correct oil spec for your engine
  • Key filters refreshed
  • Service reset + documentation
  • Smart health checks to catch issues early

We’ll confirm what your manufacturer includes in a “Large Service” before we start.

What a Large Service includes

A Large Service is designed to keep your engine healthy, improve efficiency, and maintain reliability. The exact list can vary by brand, engine type, and service schedule — especially on modern vehicles.

✅ Engine oil + oil filter service

Fresh oil is the foundation. We use the correct manufacturer-approved oil grade/spec for your engine, replace the oil filter, and check for leaks after refill.

  • Correct oil spec for your vehicle (make/model/engine-specific)
  • New oil filter + seals where applicable
  • Visual leak check + level verification

✅ Air filter replacement

A clean air filter helps throttle response, economy, and protects the engine. On many cars, this is a standard Large Service item.

  • Air filter replaced with quality OEM-equivalent part
  • Airbox checked for debris/water ingress signs

✅ Cabin / microfilter replacement

Often overlooked, the cabin filter affects ventilation performance and cabin air quality. Some manufacturers use “microfilter” terminology (common on BMW).

  • Cabin/microfilter replaced
  • HVAC airflow checked

✅ Spark plugs (where required)

Many petrol engines have spark plugs scheduled at specific intervals. If your vehicle’s Large Service interval includes plugs, we’ll fit the correct type and torque to spec.

  • Correct plug type/heat range for your engine
  • Torque to spec + coil/plug well check
  • Not all vehicles need plugs at every Large Service

✅ Fluid & safety checks

We do a practical check of key areas to catch problems early and keep your car safe.

  • Brake fluid, coolant, washer fluid levels
  • Basic tyre condition & pressures (where possible)
  • Visual inspection for leaks, worn hoses, damaged undertrays

✅ Service reset + documentation

After service, we reset service indicators (where applicable) and provide clear documentation. Digital updates can be possible depending on vehicle systems.

  • Service light reset
  • Invoice showing parts/fluids used
  • Photos and notes available on request

Manufacturer-standard servicing (what that actually means)

We match the work to your vehicle’s service schedule — not a generic one-size-fits-all checklist. That means correct specifications, correct parts, and correct processes.

Correct specs & parts
Oil grade/spec and parts are matched to your engine and manufacturer requirements.
Schedule-accurate
“Large Service” can differ by make/model — we confirm your exact items before attending.
Clear records
Service reset + invoice and documentation so you can prove maintenance history.

Important: Some vehicles have additional manufacturer items at certain intervals (e.g. fuel filter, DSG/auto transmission service, brake fluid interval, coolant interval). If your schedule calls for it, we’ll quote and advise accordingly.

Why choose a Large Service?

If you want your car to feel sharp and stay reliable, this is the service level that makes a noticeable difference.

Better reliability

Refreshing key items reduces misfires, poor running, and avoids problems building up.

Better efficiency

Clean filters and correct-spec oil help your engine breathe properly and run efficiently.

Protects resale value

Proper maintenance records and correct intervals matter when you sell or part-exchange.

How long does a Large Service take?
Commonly 60–120 minutes depending on vehicle access, undertrays, plug locations, and filter placements.
Do you service hybrids / start-stop vehicles?
Yes — we follow safe procedures and match oil/parts specs to your exact vehicle requirements.
Can you include “extra interval” items if my car needs them?
Absolutely. If your schedule requires items like fuel filter, brake fluid, gearbox servicing, etc., we’ll quote them clearly and explain why they matter.
