We were recently called out to a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Z12XEP that had developed a very loud rattling noise on start-up. After carrying out our diagnosis, we identified the timing chain as the cause of the problem.

Once the valve cover was removed, the issue became immediately obvious - the timing chain was extremely slack and in desperate need of replacement. Left much longer, it could have resulted in the chain jumping timing and causing significant engine damage.
We replaced the complete timing chain kit at the customer's location, restoring quiet operation and giving them peace of mind without the inconvenience of taking the vehicle to a garage.
